Centres of Canadian Studies,
Programs and Regional Groupings

The Foundation supports a wide variety of teaching and research initiatives in British universities. These promote Canadian scholarship, books and culture in Britain; ncrease the international experience of students; provide Canadian scholars with a research base in Europe; and facilitate working partnerships between the two countries. It also has the effect of increasing the pool of potential employees knowledgeable about Canada, for both British and Canadian companies, which contributes to the University/Industry Partnership remit of the Partnership for Knowledge initiative. There are over two hundred courses on Canadian subjects offered at ninety-three British universities in fields including architecture, business, economics, French, geography, history, law, literature, politics and social policy.

The Foundation considers and provides funding from time to time for Centres and Programs of Canadian Studies at the Universities of Edinburgh, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham, The Institute of Commonwealth Studies, London, Canterbury Christ Church University, Queen's University, Belfast and the University of Ulster. There are also two consortia, which provide a framework for academics where the constituent parts are of a federal character, or in different geographical locations. These are the London Conference for Canadian Studies and the Canadian Studies in Wales Group.
